The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated Functional Skills Tutors to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition across Chester.

This role involves supporting learners working towards Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications, helping them strengthen essential literacy and numeracy skills while building confidence for further education, employment and everyday life.

Position Details

* Location: Chester
* Position: Functional Skills Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The successful tutor will have:

* Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
* Relevant teaching or tutoring experience
* Excellent communication skills
* A supportive and learner-centred teaching style

To be eligible, you must:

* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional references
