Group Facilitator - Domestic Abuse Service

Location: North Somerset, office-based in Weston-super-Mare (TBC), with travel across the area
Hours: 14.8 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, part-time
Salary: £28,884 - £31,698 Full time equivalent (£11,553.60 - £12,679.20 pro rata)

Eye care and winter flu vouchersA well reputed charity is looking for an experienced Group Facilitator to join its Domestic Abuse Healing and Empowerment Counselling Service in North Somerset.

This role will focus on providing group support to adult survivors of domestic abuse, helping people build confidence, develop coping strategies and move forward following their experiences.

About the role - Group Facilitator

You will:

Plan and lead psycho-educational and pre-therapy groups.
Run post-counselling and drop-in support groups, both in person and online.
Carry out assessments for people referred to the groups.
Plan activities and consider any risks involved.
Train and support a small number of volunteer group facilitators.
Gather feedback from people using the service and use this to improve the groups.
Keep accurate and confidential records.
Provide training to local professionals and support staff around early identification, referrals and signposting.
Work with other organisations and professionals where appropriate.You will receive 3 hours of paid clinical supervision each month, alongside regular support from the Clinical Service Manager. The role is based within a trauma-informed service focused on healing, resilience and supporting survivors

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with:

A qualification at Level 5 or above.
Experience facilitating and leading groups.
An understanding of domestic abuse and its impact.
Experience working in a trauma-informed way.
Experience working therapeutically with groups.
Experience carrying out group assessments.
Good understanding of interpersonal trauma, domestic abuse and social exclusion.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
A commitment to equality and treating people with respect.
A counselling qualification is desirable. You will need to be willing to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, and have access to a car for travel across North Somerset. The successful applicant will also be subject to an enhanced DBS check
