Handy Person/Driver

Job Overview:

We are looking for a dependable and practical Handy Person/Driver to support our operations in Poole. This part-time role is ideal for someone hands-on and flexible, with experience in basic maintenance, gardening, and driving. The position runs Monday to Thursday, with working hours spread across 4 days. Shift patterns will be confirmed one week in advance.

Hours: 15-20 hours per week (Monday to Thursday)
Contract: Approx. 3 months initially, with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out basic DIY and general maintenance tasks (e.g. minor repairs, assembling furniture, putting up paintings etc.)
• Drive a manual long wheelbase Transit-type vehicle (under 3.5 tonnes) for local deliveries, collections and errands
• Perform light gardening duties such as weeding, tidying, and basic garden upkeep of properties
• Assist with the movement of equipment, materials, and occasional manual handling
• Support with general facilities and site maintenance as needed

Requirements:

• Full UK manual driving licence with a clean driving record
• Comfortable driving a long wheelbase van
• Experience in basic DIY and light gardening
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a small team
• Ability to show initiative with changing priorities
• Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check (paid for by the company)

Additional Information:

• This role is initially offered for a 3-month period with potential for extension
• Shifts are Monday to Thursday, with schedules provided one week in advance
