Head of Finance- Facilities - Part Time interim

• Part-time (22.2 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday)
• Hourly Rate: £30-£40 per hour
• Contract Duration: 15 months
• Location: OX4, Horspath Cowley Marsh
• Start Date: Ideally starting 23rd June

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join our facilities company based in OX4, Horspath Cowley Marsh. This role reports to the Head of Corporate Finance and works closely with the City Council’s financial accounts team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing contemporary financial reporting and ensuring effective period-end processes across multiple business streams.

• Build and maintain effective relationships across the business and within the finance teams, ensuring robust financial practices and systems of internal control.
• Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, providing insightful trend analyses and performance reporting at a consolidated corporate level.
• Support cross-service tender opportunities and provide reliable performance data against the business plan for the trading company.
• Liaise with trading company tax advisors and ensure all overheads are apportioned correctly.
• Develop and monitor a framework of corporate internal controls for auditable reconciliation of corporate accounting systems.
• Manage the trading company’s budgeting and financial forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with long-term business plans.
• Support the Chief Commercial Officer in decision-making, policy formulation, and strategic objectives.
• Ensure timely and accurate performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Professional Financial CCAB recognised qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in consolidated corporate reporting and cost benefit analyses.
• Proficient in managing and controlling budgets.
• Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and computer literacy.
• Experience with Aareon QL and Agresso financial management systems.
• Demonstrated ability in business partnering within a commercial environment.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, with proven negotiation and persuasion techniques.
• Experience in preparing statutory returns and year-end trading accounts.
