Head of Payment Operations

A well-established and rapidly growing financial services provider is seeking an experienced Head of Payment Operations to lead and optimise its payments function. This is a key leadership role based on-site in Nicosia, offering some flexibility around working hours. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational expertise from within an EMI, fintech, or regulated financial services environment.

• Lead and manage end-to-end payment operations, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and settlements

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and internal control requirements

• Collaborate closely with internal teams (Finance, Compliance, Technology, Product) to streamline operations and improve efficiency

• Identify and mitigate operational risks across payment channels

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing payments team

• Act as a subject matter expert on payment flows, systems, and best practices

• 5+ years of experience in a senior payment operations role within an EMI, fintech, or financial services organisation

• Deep understanding of electronic payment systems, settlements, and financial reconciliation

• Holds a postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CPA)

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and manage teams

• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

• Based in or willing to relocate to Nicosia and work primarily on-site
