Part-Time Cover Supervisor / HLTA - Primary School (Woolwich)

Location: Woolwich, South East London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Part-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £100 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Interview/Trial Dates: Week commencing 1st September 2025

Veritas Education is working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Woolwich, currently seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor or HLTA for a part-time role starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident educator who is comfortable delivering pre-planned lessons and managing full classroom behaviour across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering set lesson plans in the absence of the class teacher
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils with their learning and keeping them on task
• Providing a positive and engaging learning environment
• Working closely with teaching staff and school leadership

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, or teaching assistant
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to lead learning in a confident and professional manner
• A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach to working with children
• A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Important Information:

• This position is not suitable for candidates on a 20-hour student visa due to longer hours being required on some weeks.
• Trials and interviews will take place in the first week of September ahead of a September start.
