Job Description - Immigration Caseworker

Immigration Caseworker – Specialist Support for Women Survivors

Location: London
Contract: Full-time / Part-time options available
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Are you passionate about social justice and committed to supporting women affected by violence and immigration injustice? Join a dynamic, feminist organisation dedicated to empowering Black and minoritised women and girls through advocacy, legal support, and systemic change.

About the Organisation

We are a specialist, intersectional feminist organisation working at the forefront of gender-based violence, homelessness, and immigration advocacy. Our mission is to centre the voices of Black and minoritised women, providing holistic, trauma-informed support that enables safety, justice, and long-term empowerment.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Immigration Caseworker to deliver high-quality, regulated immigration advice and representation to women survivors of domestic abuse, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence. This is a vital role that directly contributes to life-changing outcomes for women navigating complex legal and personal challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide OISC Level 1 or 2 immigration advice and casework to women with insecure immigration status.
  • Support clients with applications under the Domestic Violence Rule, EU Settlement Scheme, asylum claims, leave to remain, and family reunion.
  • Help survivors regularise their status to access housing, welfare, and protection services.
  • Prepare legal representations, case files, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with advocacy and housing teams to conduct needs assessments and safety planning.
  • Stay informed on immigration law and policy developments, particularly those affecting migrant women.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and OISC regulations.
  • Contribute to service development and policy advocacy by identifying systemic barriers.
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • OISC Level 1 accreditation (or higher)
  • Experience advising on UK immigration matters (e.g. ILR, MVDAC, asylum, NRPF)
  • Deep understanding of the intersection between gender-based violence and immigration insecurity
  • Experience working with Black and minoritised women
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and trauma-informed approach
  • Excellent communication and case management skills
  • Commitment to anti-racist, anti-oppressive feminist values

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of welfare rights and housing entitlements
  • Fluency in a community language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Additional Information
  • This post is open to Black and minoritised women only, under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required.
