A friendly and successful primary school in Watford is seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join its Key Stage 1 team from September 2026. Working every Thursday and Friday, this role offers an excellent opportunity to achieve a healthy work-life balance while making a meaningful impact in the classroom.
The successful candidate will work closely with the existing class teacher to deliver a seamless learning experience, ensuring pupils continue to thrive both academically and socially.
Trial days are available for shortlisted candidates, allowing you to experience the school's welcoming atmosphere before progressing to interview.
Your Responsibilities
As the Year 2 teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence. Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues. Support children as they develop core literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND. Contribute to the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with the Key Stage 1 team.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2. Strong classroom management and organisational skills. A nurturing and positive teaching style. High expectations of behaviour, learning, and pupil progress. A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
