Library Assistant part time evenings

• Hourly Rate: £13.85 PAYE

We are seeking a Library Assistant for an immediate start in a temporary position based near Euston, London. This role is situated in the Science, Bipc & Newsroom Reading Rooms.of our national library, offering a unique opportunity to work with exceptional collections. The role will commence asap and is ongoing.

• Assist in the management and preservation of rare books and collections.
• Provide support to visitors and researchers accessing the reading room.
• Handle and catalogue rare materials, ensuring their safety and integrity.
• Assist with enquiries and provide detailed information on the collections.
• Maintain a quiet and conducive environment within the reading room.
• Support the team in daily administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

• Experience working in a library or similar environment, particularly with rare or special collections.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle delicate materials carefully.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Can commit to part time hours noted
