Mailroom Assistant – Holiday Cover (August & September) 
Location: The City of London
Pay: £16.00 per hour 
Hours: 09:00–18:00

An established insurance company in The City is looking for a Postroom/Mailroom Operative to provide holiday cover throughout August. This is a great short‑term opportunity for someone reliable, organised, and comfortable with hands‑on operational work.

Monday 24 August – Thursday 27 August (4 days)
Tuesday 1 September & Thursday 3 September ( 2 Days )
Tuesday 8 September & Thursday 10 September ( 2 Days )
Tuesday 15 September & Thursday 17 September ( 2 Days )
Tuesday 22 September & Thursday 24 September ( 2 Days )

You must be able to commit to all dates and pass standard security checks.

Key Responsibilities

Post & parcel collection — Collecting items from the loading bay and internal departments
Digital parcel logging — Recording deliveries on the company’s digital tracking system
Internal deliveries — Distributing letters and parcels to staff and departments
Meeting room setup — Preparing rooms for meetings and events
Routine safety checks — Carrying out basic security and fire‑safety inspections
Stock monitoring — Keeping an eye on stationery and general suppliesWhat We’re Looking For

Previous experience of working in a busy mailroom
Someone punctual, dependable, and comfortable moving around a large office building
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
Willingness to complete security vetting
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
