The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a client operating across the Transportation sector, collaborating closely with key stakeholders, such as Local Authorities, Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, TfN, and the DfT, to drive positive outcomes.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: Manchester (Hybrid working arrangement: 3 days in the office/ 2 days WFH)

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is proud to be partnering with a Transport governing body who are looking to secure a Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in delivering an effective financial and management accounting service.

Operating at the heart of major infrastructure programmes, you will act as a trusted partner across the organisation, providing expert advice, developing robust financial systems and processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

· Deliver an Effective Accounting Service for the organisation, Providing timely and relevant financial reports to clients and the Boards.

· Contribute to the development of financial regulations, policies, systems, and procedures.

· Manage Transactional Processing while overseeing the procurement and expense management systems.

· Support monthly payroll processing and HMRC arrangements and provide regular management information to stakeholders.

· Contribute to the Annual Statement of Accounts and government returns.

· Support continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures.

· Monitor and evaluate financial performance and forecasts.

· Assist with financial guidance and support to client Directorates.

· Provide input on accounting, expenditure control, and budget issues.

· Maintain continuity of service during absences to ensure consistent financial operations.

Due to the hybrid policy, you need to be living within an hour radius of Manchester

Required Experience:

· Fully or part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CIPFA)

· Proven experience in financial management within a public sector-focused environment, skilled in financial systems development and reporting
