Job Title: Market Attendant

Location: Wolverhampton, Bilston, Wednesfield, and Wholesale Markets, as required

Contract Details: Temporary, Part-Time (18.5 hours per week)

Salary: £12.45 per hour

Responsibilities:
As a Market Attendant, you will:

• Ensure the cleanliness and smooth operation of market areas, both indoors and outdoors.
• Assist in maintaining the security and safety of market premises through regular patrols.
• Help with the setup and maintenance of stalls, equipment, and facilities.
• Handle traffic direction and keep market areas clear of litter and refuse.
• Provide courteous assistance to traders and customers, including reporting any incidents.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance service quality.
• Wear the provided uniform and maintain a smart appearance while on duty.
• Occasionally cover for the Wholesale Market Night Attendant as needed.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

• Strong commitment to health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with traders and customers.
• Basic understanding of market operations and cleanliness standards.
• Reliability and punctuality in attendance and duties.

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

• Previous experience in a customer service role or market environment.
• Familiarity with health and safety practises within public spaces.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement initiatives.

Technologies:

• Familiarity with basic cleaning equipment and safety tools.
• Competence in reporting systems and communication tools.
