Days: Part-time - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (9:00am-3:00pm)

Salary: £25 per hour

Start Date: ASAP or September 2025 (interviews ASAP)

Contract: Long-term to permanent

Location: NG2, Nottingham

Long Term Futures are working in collaboration with an Alternative Provision in Nottingham, to appoint a Maths Tutor. This is a unique opportunity to work 1:1 with young people in trauma-informed environment, helping them reconnect with maths and rebuild their confidence in education.

This provision offers a creative, wellbeing-focused alternative to mainstream education, supporting students aged 11-16 who have faced barriers due to social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver maths lessons to students on a 1:1 basis.
• Adapt content to meet a wide range of learning needs, including SEN and SEMH.
• Build trusting relationships that support engagement in learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress, reporting on development where appropriate.
• Promote a calm, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere.

About You

• You hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE in maths or a related subject.
• You have experience working with students who may present challenging behaviour or have special educational needs.
• You are patient, compassionate, and committed to helping young people succeed at their own pace.
