Part Time Finance Director - Law Firm

Our client is a well-respected and high growth Law Firm providing a UK wide and international service from their offices based in Cambridgeshire with hybrid working offered.

As a result of continued expansion, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the appointment of a Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on a part time or portfolio basis.

The CFO will be responsible for managing the financial actions of the law firm. This includes tracking cash flow, financial planning, and analysing the firm's financial strengths and weaknesses to propose corrective actions.

The CFO will play a critical role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the firm.

You will stand shoulder to shoulder with the CEO around Commercial and Strategic planning to include M&A and be supported by a strong legal cashiering team who look after much of the day to day firm finance operations.,

Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the firm's growth and profitability.
• Oversee the preparation and management of the firm's budget.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team.

Financial Management:

• Manage the firm's financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Risk Management:

• Identify and manage financial risks.
• Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
• Leadership and Team Management:
• Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance and support.
• Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
• Present financial reports and insights to the firm's partners and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be formally qualified (AAT / CIMA / ACCA / ACA) and ideally have previous experience gained within a Head of Finance / Finance Director / CFO capacity within the legal services sector

You will be comfortable leading a team and working closely with wider C Suite and SLT to challenge performance and drive improvement

Candidates must have strong knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices and SRA regulations coupled with excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.

This position is ideally being recruited on a part time / portfolio basis with a expectations of 8-10 days per month (however this can be flexible)

Candidates can either join the business either on payroll or via a self employed portfolio basis with competitive salary / rates offered.
