We’re looking for an experienced finance professional to join the team, and supported by the management team and external accountants, take ownership of a varied day-to-day finance function. From bookkeeping, invoicing and reconciliations through to VAT, payroll preparation, and management reporting, this is a role where you’ll play an important part in keeping the organisation’s finances accurate, well managed and on track.
What you can expect:
* Pay rate: £15 per hour
* Working hours: 15-20 hours per week, flexible although the ideal would be Monday, Wednesday & Friday
* The main location of work will be rural Leominster, although the role will involve occasional travel to their other sites in north Herefordshire
* Subject to a DBS check
* Enhanced pension contributions
What you will be doing:
* Maintain all aspects of bookkeeping using Quickbooks
* Prepare all supplier invoices ready for payment authorisation
* Prepare and monitor all customer invoices, implementing credit control where necessary
* Responsible for reconciliation of bank accounts, card payments and petty cash
* Monthly VAT input, calculation and submission
* Liaise with accountants regarding tax and VAT submissions
* Prepare PAYE payroll and pensions for submission to outsourced payroll provider
* Liaise with external auditor
* Prepare accounts for submission to accountants
* Regular liaison with accountants, including end of year preparations
* Ensure accurate financial information is available to the management team
* Provide agreed monthly reports to the senior management team
* Assist with queries from staff, public, and visitors
* Post holder will be expected to participate in projects as and when needed and on occasion run small projects independently.
* Participate in ongoing, relevant Health & Safety training
* This is not an exhaustive job description, and additional duties may be required
What we are looking for:
* Prior experience as a finance officer and/or bookkeeper essential
* Knowledge of VAT input, calculation and submission essential
* Experience of QuickBooks would be advantageous, although knowledge of other systems such as Xero would be highly beneficial
* Prior experience within a healthcare setting would be advantageous, although not essential
* Prior experience as a finance professional within the public sector would be advantageous, although not essential
