Salary – negotiable
3 days per week (on-site)
Cambridge (parking on site)

We are recruiting a Part-Time HR Manager for a R&D / Manufacturing start up / scale up business based in Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity to join an early-stage business to develop their HR function. This will ensure they create systems and processes to help them grow a sustainable business for the future.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be instrumental in developing the HR function partnering with the business to develop an engaging culture.

About the role:

As a standalone role, you will oversee 40 employees, be responsible for the generalist HR function and have the exciting opportunity to contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and evolve the HR function [and eventually team]
Assist management team with recruitment programme as company expands
Engender team spirit within the organisation
Develop and maintain an employee handbook
Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent
Devise HR policies and processes
Maintain HR records using the HRIS
Create career pathways, job evaluation and grading
Devise and deliver learning events to support business performance
Provide strategic and tactical HR support aligned with the business initiatives

About you:

You will be an experienced HR professional who has established HR skills in developing HR processes and systems ideally from a technical environment in a start up / scale up.
You will be passionate about employee engagement and how to engender a team spirit within the business.
CIPD qualified at level 5 or above
Be able to operate in a stand alone capacity
Strong attention to detail and excellent employment law knowledge.
Available to start at short notice
