Part-time Management Accountant Our client is a fast-growing, multi-award-winning business-to-business manufacturer, designing and supplying quality engineered and fabricated products to the UK housebuilding sector. A highly profitable £40m+ turnover business employing over 200 staff, they are the UK’s largest business of their kind, renowned for cutting-edge innovation and excellent service. The company is now looking to appoint to an exciting new Part-time Management Accountant role to strengthen its Finance team in providing new management information.Reporting directly to the Finance Director and closely alongside the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in creating and implementing robust processes to gather commercial and operational data to establish, generate and develop management accounts information, reporting and analysis including quality business measures and indicators that ultimately enable delivery of improved financial performance.Providing insight and direction to the Directors, Commercial and Operations colleagues your key responsibilities as Management Accountant will include:

• Creation of periodic management accounts
  • Accruals and prepayments for all cost centres and spend lines
  • Reconciliation of relevant balance sheet control accounts
  • Ledger analysis and adjustment to ensure Epicor accurately represents spend by area
  • Period end stock valuation
• Period reporting
  • Full P&L with comparatives to PY and Budget/Forecast
  • Cost Centre reporting
  • Additional detail on key areas such as sales revenue and labour costs
  • Budgets/Forecasts - lead on budget and 2x annual re-forecasts
• Other Reporting
  • Further reports on weekly/quarterly/annual basis including non-financial metrics, such as:
    • Operations: material waste, labour efficiency, energy usage, transport
    • Commercial: marketing effectiveness, customer metrics
  • Key here is the ability to convert the information into actions with colleagues, face-to-face communication whether through formal meetings or 1-2-1
• ERP development
  • Support in areas such as stock movements and control
  • Development of period end processes following implementation of purchasing and inventory
• Modelling - support to model business initiatives and commercial opportunities

As Management Accountant you will need:

• Strong experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, Cost Accountant, Manufacturing Accountant, Factory Accountant or perhaps a Systems Accountant type role, preferably with recent demonstrable experience in gained in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Part qualified in CIMA or similar
• Commercial focus and a continuous improvement mindset - able to self-start and influence colleagues

• Good understanding of the Microsoft suite with strong Excel skills

• Analytical with good communication skills and the ability to support non-finance managers
• A determined, enthusiastic approach to developing and delivering broad ranging management accounts information and performance measures
• Experience in an ERP environment, Epicor beneficial

Benefits and rewards

• Salary £35,000 to £40,000 pro rata + pension + benefits
• To maximise pay/rewards, you must possess all outlined experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications
• Part-time time, permanent role (we will also consider less experienced applicants looking for full-time work)
• 28-32 hours, flexible working pattern over 3, 4 or 5 days a week - with opportunity to increase with business growth
