Part Time School Caretaker

• Location: Glodwick Road, Oldham, OL4 1AJ
• Pay Rate: £13.17 paye

Oldham Council are currently looking for a dedicated Caretaker for a part-time, temporary position lasting 1 - 2 months. This role is based at Glodwick Infant and Nursery School and involves split shifts to cover morning and afternoon hours.

• Open and close the school premises, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for all school users.
• Manage the security of the premises and its contents, including operating fire and burglar alarms, and acting as a fire warden and key-holder.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and respond appropriately to any incidents.
• Conduct daily building checks, record outcomes, and manage the maintenance and operation of building systems such as lighting and heating.
• Perform general maintenance, DIY, and minor repairs as well as porterage and handyperson duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational status of vending machines and replace consumables like paper towels and toilet rolls.
• Receive and check deliveries of goods.
• Prepare rooms for classes and support with setting up furniture and equipment for school activities.
• Maintain the exterior cleanliness of the building, ensuring drains are clear of rubbish.
• Carry out additional duties as required by the Senior Management Team, including adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Working Hours will be 7.30am - 9.30am, and then 14.30pm - 16.30pm Monday to Friday

• Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items.
• Experience in a caretaking or similar role preferred.
• Ability to perform general maintenance and minor repair tasks.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong commitment to providing high-quality customer service and maintaining a safe environment.
