Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 3:00pm
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
At Northern Healthcare, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, develop independence and feel part of their community.
We're looking for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our friendly team at Moss Lodge in Rochdale, supporting adults with mental health needs, autism and learning disabilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships, getting out and about, organising activities and helping others make the most of their day.
If you're looking for part-time work that fits around your lifestyle this could be the role for you.
No two days will be exactly the same! You'll provide practical, emotional and person-centred support, helping individuals work towards their goals and enjoy greater independence.
A key part of this role will be supporting people to access the community, attend appointments and take part in meaningful activities.
This could include:
Supporting appointments: Accompanying individuals to GP appointments, hospital visits, health reviews and other important commitments.
Planning activities: Helping organise and deliver activities within Moss Lodge that encourage social interaction, confidence, creativity and wellbeing.
Getting out and about: Supporting people to explore the local community, enjoy walks, visit local places, attend activities or simply enjoy a change of scenery.
☕ Building relationships: Spending quality time with the people we support, getting to know their personalities, interests and aspirations.
Promoting independence: Encouraging individuals to develop everyday living skills, make their own choices and build confidence.
Providing emotional support: Being someone who listens, understands and offers reassurance when needed.
Recording and communicating: Maintaining accurate records and sharing important information with colleagues to ensure consistent support.
️ Promoting safety and wellbeing: Following individual support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and company policies.
Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference.
It could be accompanying someone to an appointment they've been anxious about, helping someone try a new activity, going out for a coffee, encouraging someone to socialise or simply taking the time to listen.
At Moss Lodge, you'll help people build confidence, develop independence and enjoy meaningful experiences in a welcoming supported living environment.
You don't necessarily need previous experience in mental health.
We're looking for someone who is:

Patient, understanding and approachable.
Reliable, responsible and enthusiastic.

Comfortable supporting people in the community.
Creative and enthusiastic about organising activities.
Able to encourage and motivate others.
Respectful of individual choices, dignity and independence.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Committed to making a positive difference.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude and values.
Experience in mental health, care, support work or a similar environment is desirable, but we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
At Northern Healthcare, people come first. We're passionate about helping individuals live fulfilling lives while ensuring our colleagues feel valued, supported and able to develop.
