Service care Solution are currently recruiting for a Participation Officer in Hackney.

The Participation Officer will support the participation of care-experienced children and young people in Hackney in the strategic development of services designed for them, through regular, high quality engagement events and activities. This is a part time role working 18 hours a week (2.5 days)

Pay rate – £14.15 PAYE / £17.39 Umbrella per hour

Main Responsibilities

As a Participation Officer you will be responsible for:

• To coordinate regular meetings of Hackney’s Care Council and to use this platform to develop initiatives that encourage care experienced children and young people to build strong links with each other and other services and support the growth of positive perceptions of care experienced children and young people

• To co-create reports, podcasts, blogs and videos with care experienced children and young people help represent their views.

• To build respectful, honest and supportive relationships with care experienced children and young people who are members of the care council, including those with complex needs.

• To establish an inclusive and anti-racist culture throughout all delivery, where all are welcome and supported to participate.

• To liaise with a range of stakeholders, including senior officers, partner agencies and the Deputy Mayor and elected members, to ensure the voices of care experienced children and young people are heard in key decision-making forums.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS
• Experience in a similar role
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds with complex needs
