Patrons and HNWI Events and production Lead:

Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for someone to join the team as a ‘Patrons and HNWI Events and production Lead’.    This is a part-time role, working 18 hours a week, based in London.

As Lead, you will work with Patrons, Impact Philanthropy and Head of Individual Giving (HNWI), to lead the planning and delivery of events programmes, to support the Patron and income generation programme.

Your role will be the  delivery of cultivation, stewardship and donor benefit events to support wider private income generation strategy (such as wider donor events in Venice, annual fundraising galas etc)

Accountabilities are, but not limited to:

Strategy and Planning

• Works with Head of Individual Giving (HNWI) and Head of Global Private Sector to design event concepts for Patrons, Impact Philanthropy and HNWI cultivation and stewardship events.
• Advises on both the feasibility / risks and timing of events.
• Designs event programmes, timelines and milestones.
• Drafts and manages Zkipster invitations, ensuring maximum attendance, working with marketing and communications to enhance visibility and impact.
• Plans and deliver high-quality events that support income generation and stewardship in line with broader team strategy.
• Leads and owns on-site delivery of all events.
• Supports donor experience at events.
• Keeps events up to date for team visibility on progress
• Evaluates events and develops lessons learned after each event to improve event management and customer experience.
• Works with Sector Leads across the department to deliver the above for other events as agreed, such as Venice and the Annual Fundraising Gala.

Managing Finance and Resources

• Develops, agrees and tracks budget spend and reports spend to Team Support Officer and Head of Individual Giving (HNWI)

• Ensures events are managed in line with British Council financial and procurement processes and that contracts are agreed and in place for all suppliers prior to deliver of services. Create contracts and agreements in line with British Council quality standards and project management methodologies, including adherence to all process and procedures, governance requirements and communication procedures.
• Identify and mitigate risk related to potential and current patron and corporate sponsor partners including ethical and reputational risk and due diligence.

• Shares all invoices with Team Support Officer and ensures suppliers are paid on time.
• Flags delivery or budget risks escalating any material challenges and risks to Head of Individual Giving (HNWI)

Relationships and Stakeholder Management

• Develops and maintains excellent relationships and networks with internal teams and external strategic partners and stakeholders:
• Manages internal relationships with British Council Events Team, Global Programme Teams, Country Directors and Country Teams.
• Manages external relationships with Patrons and supporter attending events, event partners and sponsors, suppliers and Embassy staff where we jointly deliver events.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Significant experience of designing large scale event concepts targeted to support to HNWI income generation and account management, including risk assessments.
• Experience of the delivery of high stakes events including logistical leadership and management. Ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
• Experience of developing budgets, procurement, contracting and information management for events.
• Experience of working with a range of internal stakeholders and important external clients, protecting organisational reputation.
• Experience of evaluation techniques for both internal lessons learning and external client satisfaction.

Important Information:

Department: Cultural Engagement, Business Strategy & Engagement.

Contract type: Two Year Fixed Term Contract.

Pay band: 8.

Salary: Starting from £43, 479 per annum, pro rata. 

Hours: This is a part time position at 0.5 FTE (18 hours per week).
