Payroll Administrator

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established business based in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join their team on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a supportive and collaborative team, with a strong focus on delivering an outstanding employee experience through accurate and timely payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process the monthly payroll for approximately 550 employees, including starters, leavers, and all statutory deductions
• Ensure all payroll processing is compliant with current HMRC legislation and internal policies
• Administer employee benefits including health insurance, company cars, and other schemes
• Manage the auto-enrolment process for pensions and upload relevant data to pension providers
• Respond to payroll-related queries in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all information is accurate and confidential
• Prepare reports for internal teams including HR and Finance as required
• Assist with annual reporting requirements including P60s, P45s, and P11Ds
• Support continuous improvement of payroll processes and uphold high standards of data protection in line with GDPR

Person Specification:

• Previous experience in a similar payroll position
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and best practice
• High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including use of VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Experience using IRIS payroll software is highly desirable
• CIPP qualification or membership is advantageous but not essential
