The role is focused on after-school care for a bright, soon-to-be eight-year-old girl who attends a private school locally. The family home is a spacious residence with extensive gardens, a cinema room, and plenty of space for play and creative activities. The household also includes a well-behaved family dog, so applicants must be comfortable working in a home with pets.
This is a part-time, live-out position, ideal for a reliable nanny seeking a long-term placement. The successful candidate will primarily manage school collections, oversee homework, provide simple meal or snack preparation, and keep the child engaged in age-appropriate, fun, and educational activities. The role requires a confident driver with their own car, as school drop-offs and pick-ups are an essential part of the position.
The principals are looking for someone warm, responsible, and flexible, who will foster a secure environment, maintain existing routines, and ensure their daughter is supported both practically and emotionally. This role suits a professional who can work independently, with a genuine interest in childcare and the ability to nurture positive habits and learning at home.

Working Days: Monday to Friday (term-time), with additional hours during school holidays
Working Hours: Afternoon hours – school pick-ups from 3:30/5:30 p.m. depending on after-school clubs

Salary: £20 – £22 gross per hour (self-employed basis)
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire – driving licence and own vehicle required
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Main Duties will include:
- School pick-ups and safe transport home
- Supervising homework and supporting learning in line with school requirements
- Preparing light meals and snacks (no heavy cooking required)
- Organising age-appropriate activities such as reading, arts & crafts, and outdoor play in the large family garden
- Encouraging a balanced routine, including limited screen time
- Providing companionship, warmth, and stability after school
- Ensuring the child is ready and organised for the next school day
- Offering care during school holidays
- Being comfortable in a home with a well-behaved dog (no pet care required)
Minimal Requirements:
- 3+ years of private nanny or childcare experience
- 2 excellent checkable references
- Valid UK working permit
- Clean driving licence and own vehicle (essential)
- DBS check
- First Aid Certificate
