PMLD Teaching Assistant – Spalding
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Salary: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

Are you a caring and resilient individual with a passion for supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)?

GSL Education is currently recruiting a committed and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Spalding, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time role, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with complex learning and physical needs.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support students with PMLD, many of whom may be non-verbal and require high levels of personal care and physical support

• Assist in delivering bespoke learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

• Use specialist equipment and communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, switches – training provided)

• Help maintain a safe, sensory-rich and inclusive classroom environment

• Work closely with therapists, healthcare staff and families to ensure consistent care

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or adults with complex needs (education, care, or support settings)

• Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient

• Understands the importance of dignity, encouragement, and structure in SEN settings

• Is willing to assist with personal care and mobility support

• Holds an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one)
