Practice Accounts Assistant

We are recruiting for an experienced practice Accounts Assistant to join a small, long established chartered accountancy firm in Lewes, East Sussex.

This a great opportunity for someone who has already gained some experience in a bookkeeping/accounts assistant role within a firm of accountants and is now looking to join a friendly, flexible team where you can develop your skills and progress your career. The firm are winning lots of new business so there is lots of scope for growth. The firm work with an interesting range of small and mid sized companies and not for profit organisations. They are based in lovely offices in a central Lewes location.

In this busy and varied role you will be bookkeeping to trial balance for a range of clients, preparing VAT and CIS returns, and self assesment tax returns. If you have any experience of preparing company accounts you can also put these skills to use.

About you:

• Previous practice accounts assistant/bookkeeping experience gained in a UK accountancy firm
• Good working knowledge of Xero
• Live within a reasonable commute of Lewes, East Sussex
• AAT qualified or active studier would be helpful but not essential
• Detail minded, self motivated
