You should be comfortable in group situations with pupils, as well as taking children in 1 to 1 settings outside of the classroom. Some experience in a classroom or dealing with children in some capacity is desirable - an enhanced DBS and registration to the EWC is also essential. Being a role model to all pupils as well as building and maintaining professional relationships with all other staff members is also very important.
