Private Client Lawyer (Locum)

Contract Type: Locum

Salary: £40ph - £60ph DOE

Our client, a traditional and collaborative law firm with a history dating back to the late 1800s, is seeking a Private Client Lawyer to join their team in East Cornwall on a temporary basis.

Position Overview

This firm is seeking a Locum Lawyer to assist the firm to cover a recruitment gap, starting ASAP on an ongoing full or part time basis.

As a Private Client Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding legal services to the firm's valued clients, managing a diverse caseload spanning estate planning, trusts, and elderly client services.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed private client caseload efficiently and accurately

• Provide expert advice on estate planning, wills, and trusts

• Assist clients with lasting powers of attorney and court of protection matters

• Ensure compliance with the firm's risk management procedures and SRA regulations

• Develop and update legal knowledge in line with SRA CPD requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience handling private client matters in a fee-earning capacity (either as Solicitor, Legal Executive, or candidate otherwise qualified by experience).

• Availability to start on short notice and willingness to work on-site for part of the week

• Strong client management and communication skills
