As a PRU Teaching Assistant You'll Be:

• Supporting students aged 11-16 who have been excluded from mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
• Building trusted relationships and acting as a positive role model for learners who may be on the fringes of the youth justice system.
• Assisting teachers with delivering bespoke learning plans tailored to each student's individual needs.
• Providing one-to-one mentoring and behaviour support, helping pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.
• Working collaboratively with pastoral staff, social workers, and external agencies to ensure wraparound care for each student.

Who We're Looking For:

• Criminology graduates (or similar fields such as Psychology, Youth Work, or Social Sciences) who are looking to apply theory into real-world practice.
• Individuals with experience supporting challenging behaviour, ideally within educational, youth work, or custodial settings.
• Resilient, empathetic, and calm individuals who can build rapport with hard-to-reach students.
• A genuine interest in youth development, rehabilitation, or diversion from the justice system.
