Role Overview

Venn are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to support the design, execution, and documentation of verification and validation activities across a range of RF and embedded systems for our client. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a systematic approach to testing, and a desire to work in a fast-paced and secure development environment.

We are open to part-time applicants.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and scripts for hardware, software, and integrated systems
• Perform functional, regression, environmental, and performance testing of RF, embedded, and system-level products
• Support design verification and qualification testing to relevant standards (e.g., MIL-STD, DEF STAN)
• Set up and operate test equipment including oscilloscopes, VNAs, signal generators, and spectrum analysers
• Capture and analyse test data, investigate faults, and support root cause analysis
• Work closely with design & systems engineers to define test coverage and resolve issues
• Maintain detailed test documentation including reports, results, logs, and traceability matrices
• Ensure test activities comply with security, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Support product release and customer acceptance testing where required

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience in product or system testing (hardware and/or software).
• Familiarity with test instrumentation and automated test setups.
• Understanding of RF, embedded systems, or electronics desirable
• Able to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and system diagrams.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in testing RF systems or communications equipment
• Working knowledge of test standards (e.g., ISO 9001, CE marking, DEF STAN, EMC)
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB)
• Experience with environmental and compliance testing
• ISTQB or other test certification is a plus
