School Caretaker

Role: School Caretaker

Location: Durham

Pay: £13.21-£15.50 per hour dependant on experience

We are recruiting individuals with DIY skills in the Newcastle area for roles such as Site Managers, Caretakers, and Premises Officers in local schools. Work is available in flexible agency cover, fixed-term contracts, or permanent employment. You would have your own flexibility to choose full-time or part-time jobs, with work typically within 30 minutes of your home.

No formal qualifications or prior school experience required, just practical DIY skills and a proactive attitude, however any previous experience would be a huge advantage.

Key requirements:

• Competent DIYer with good practical skills

• Adaptable, proactive, and reliable

• Organised, punctual, and dependable

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Friendly team player

Key duties (vary by assignment):

• Security (open/lock up)

• Deliveries and porterage

• Perimeter security checks

• Setting up meeting rooms

• Checking fire escapes

• Minor repairs and maintenance

Opportunity for temp-to-permanent positions:

• Possibility to transition from temporary to permanent roles (if desired by both the yourself and the school).
