School caretaker - DBS Essential

Role: School Caretaker
Location: Dudley
Hourly Rate: £13.20ph
Working Hours: Split Shift - 7am to 10am and 3pm to 6pm (Monday to Friday)
Length: Temporary Ongoing

Pertemps are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable enhanced DBS Labourer to join our clients maintenance team at a school in the Dudley area. This is a key holder role with a split shift hours, ideal for someone looking for steady, ongoing work with varied duties in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• General site maintenance and minor repairs across the school premises.
• Light gardening duties, including tidying outdoor spaces, weeding, and basic grounds upkeep.
• Cleaning tasks as required to maintain hygiene and safety standards (i.e., Toilets, Classrooms, Eating areas).
• Moving and lifting furniture, equipment, and deliveries.
• Assisting in the setup and clearing of rooms or outdoor areas for school activities.
• Loading and unloading items; disposing of waste including use of skips.
• Supporting the facilities and site team in daily operations.
• Ensuring the site remains secure and reporting any safety hazards or maintenance needs.

Suitable candidates will have:

• Enhanced DBS Certificate - Essential
• Proven experience in a similar maintenance, caretaker, or facilities role.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and manual work.
• Able to work independently and follow clear instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and proactive with a positive can-do attitude.
• Trustworthy and responsible, as the role involves key holding.

Temporary ongoing position with immediate start available subject to interview and Safeguarding checks.
