School Caretaker | Uckfield | £24,000 - £26,000 Per Annum | Part-Time | Permanent
About the Role
This school is seeking a dependable and proactive School Caretaker to join their team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs on the school site.
• Ensure the premises are clean, secure, and well-presented.
• Open and lock the school daily, including alarm checks.
• Support with health and safety checks and compliance.
• Assist with deliveries, furniture moves, and room setups.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, paths, and car parks.
• Respond to emergencies and report any hazards or issues promptly.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities (preferred).
• Basic DIY skills and familiarity with cleaning equipment.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
