School Catering Assistant – Temporary / Ad Hoc

Local Education is expanding its school support division and is looking for reliable Catering Assistants and Kitchen Assistants to join our temporary staffing team across Essex.

We work directly with schools, academies, trusts and specialist education settings, and demand for reliable catering staff is growing.

Assignments can range from single-day sickness cover through to several weeks or longer, making this ideal if you want flexible work without committing to a permanent position.

Typical duties include:

* Supporting food preparation

* Serving pupils and staff

* Setting up dining areas

* Washing kitchen equipment and utensils

* Maintaining clean kitchen and service areas

* Supporting cooks and catering managers

* Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures

* Helping wherever required during busy service periods

We would particularly like to hear from people with experience in:

* School or college catering

* Restaurants

* Hotels

* Care homes

* Hospitals

* Contract catering

* Commercial kitchens

* Hospitality

Previous school experience is useful, but not essential. If you have catering experience, are reliable and have the right attitude, we would still like to hear from you.
