Our client, a prestigious institution based near Watford (WD6), has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a School Nurse (Term-Time Only, Monday-Friday) .

Joining a modern, well equipped health centre and care team, this is a unique role within a small but thriving school which offers the successful candidate to build close working relationships across the community.

The successful candidate will be entitled to a salary of £27-34k (after pro-rata) dependent on experience, work across 35 weeks of the year as this role is term time only, free lunches, a generous pensions scheme and more.

The Role

• Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff
• Assess, manage and monitor minor illnesses and injuries
• Administer prescribed and non-prescribed medications
• Manage chronic health conditions (E.g. Diabetes, asthma, epilepsy) and create individual care plans
• To maintain confidential accurate health records
• Communicate with parents, guardians regarding student health concerns

The Ideal candidate

• Medical qualification appropriate to the role with current registration to the regulatory body Eg. Nursing, emergency medicine (essential)
• Experience of providing medical care in any context (essential)
• Ability to build close and trusting professional relationships with young people and staff
• Excellent knowledge of concepts and skills for the delivery of health care (Essential)
• Qualifications or experience of mental health (essential)
