School Technician - Food Technology - Part Time

Your new role

We are recruiting for a friendly and supportive secondary school in the Kirkham area, seeking a Food Technology Technician to join their supportive Design & Technology department. The role involves working closely with teaching staff to prepare ingredients, maintain kitchen equipment, and support practical food lessons. You'll play a key role in ensuring lessons run smoothly and safely, helping students develop essential life skills in a hands-on learning environment.

Please note: This is a long term temporary role starting in September on a part time basis (Tues, Wed, Thurs afternoons). For the right person, this could be for the whole academic year.

What you'll need to succeed

• A relevant qualification or experience in food preparation, catering, or a similar field
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, catering, health & safety, and kitchen equipment
• A proactive and organised approach to supporting practical lessons
• A genuine interest in supporting students' learning and development
• Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
