Part-Time, Semi-Senior, Payroll Accountant – Accountancy Practice (Maidstone Area)

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a flexible, part-time role within a supportive and growing accountancy practice?

Our client, a well-established firm in the Maidstone area, is seeking a Semi-Senior Payroll Accountant to join their team. Our client are well known for providing a range of financial, tax and advisory services to businesses and individuals. Known for its client-focused approach, the firm offers expertise in accounting, payroll, VAT, and business consultancy, supporting clients across various industries. With a reputation for delivering tailored solutions, they combine professional knowledge with a personable service to help clients navigate financial challenges and achieve their goals.

As a key member of the payroll department, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing payroll for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Handling payroll queries and liaising with clients regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Managing auto-enrolment pensions and statutory payments (SMP, SSP, etc.).
  • Preparing and submitting RTI returns and year-end reporting.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience in a payroll-focused role within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and UK payroll legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client accounts.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive and organised approach to work.
