SEN PMLD Support Assistant

Location: Greenwich, South East London
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm | Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Immediate Start
Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

A well-resourced and supportive secondary SEN school in Greenwich is seeking a compassionate and experienced PMLD SEN Support Assistant to join their team. The school caters for students aged 11-19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical and physical needs.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with significant additional needs in a nurturing, structured environment.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD

• Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and changing

• Support students with mobility and access needs (hoisting/manual handling required)

• Facilitate sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities

• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to deliver holistic care

• Maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

• Previous experience supporting students with PMLD or severe learning difficulties

• Comfortable providing personal care and physical support

• Training in Manual Handling, Hoisting, or PEG Feeding is an advantage

• Strong communication, patience, and a nurturing approach

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
