SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: DN12
Start Date: ASAP
Working Days: Wednesday – Friday, 3 days per week
Duration: Until October half term, with the possibility of a longer-term extension
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant / 1:1 Support

The RoleProvide Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the DN12 area, starting tomorrow.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with SEND, helping them to access learning, engage positively within the classroom and develop their confidence and independence.

The child has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), so the school is looking for someone who is calm, patient, nurturing and able to adapt their approach to meet the child's individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting children with SEND
Ideally has experience working with children with ASD and/or PDA
Is patient, calm and understanding
Can build positive and trusting relationships with children
Is confident adapting their approach to suit individual needs
Can support positive behaviour and engagement
Is reliable, committed and able to work as part of a school teamWhat the School Offers
