Job Description - SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Title:SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Chester
Salary:£13.68 per hour
Contract Type: Full time
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs?
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join our warm and inclusive team in Chester. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role:
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who have SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

  • Support class teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies under the guidance of the SENCO.

  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.

  • Foster independence and confidence in pupils.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (school or other relevant settings).

  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA or SEN-related training) are desirable but not essential.
