Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Full Time - 5 Days per Week

Start: ASAP | Duration: AUTUMN Term

A caring and welcoming Catholic Primary School is seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible until the end of the Summer Term in July.

The Role

You will be working 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil who has high autistic needs, providing dedicated support to help them access learning and feel safe, supported, and engaged within the classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
Supporting the pupil with communication, emotional regulation, and learning activities
Implementing strategies to support autism and sensory needs
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo
Helping create a calm, structured and nurturing learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ideally with high needs
Is patient, calm, and nurturing
Has experience working 1:1 with primary-aged pupils
Can build positive relationships and provide consistent support
Is reliable and committed to supporting the pupil's developmentExperience in a primary school setting and knowledge of SEN strategies or autism support approaches would be highly beneficial.
