Job Description - SENDCO - Lead Inclusive Practice

SENDCO - Lead Inclusive Practice in a Thriving Tower Hamlets Primary

📍 Tower Hamlets, East London

đź“… Start: September 2026

đź’Ľ Full-Time Contract

đź’· Up to MPS6 + SEN1 (ÂŁ282.49 per day PAYE)

Are you ready to make a lasting impact on children's lives through outstanding inclusive practice?

SANZA Teaching Agency is excited to be recruiting an experienced and ambitious SENDCO on behalf of a welcoming, high-achieving faith primary school in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity to join a school where inclusion is more than a priority-it's embedded in every aspect of school life.

With a well-established reputation for supporting children with additional needs, the school is seeking a dedicated professional to help lead and develop its SEND provision from September 2026.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This vibrant and diverse primary school has created an environment where every child is encouraged to thrive. Around a third of pupils receive additional SEND support, meaning inclusion sits at the heart of teaching, learning and pastoral care.

Rather than managing SEND alone, you'll work within a highly experienced inclusion team, benefiting from shared expertise, collaborative planning and strong leadership support.

You'll be joining:

âś” A well-resourced and highly respected inclusion team

âś” Two experienced SENDCOs working collaboratively across the school

âś” A dedicated Inclusion Lead providing strategic support

âś” A leadership team that values innovation, wellbeing and professional growth

This collaborative structure ensures workloads are manageable while allowing you to focus on improving outcomes for pupils.

About the Role

You'll take responsibility for leading SEND provision across EYFS and Key Stage 1, ensuring children receive the right support from the very beginning of their educational journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and developing high-quality SEND provision across EYFS and KS1

Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies

Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions

Supporting colleagues through coaching, advice and professional development

Ensuring statutory SEND processes are completed to a high standard

Driving inclusive practice across the school and contributing to strategic development

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from teachers who are passionate about inclusion and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Be an experienced SENDCO or an aspiring SEND leader currently completing (or preparing to undertake) the NASENCO qualification

Have strong knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive classroom practice

Be confident working collaboratively with families, staff and external professionals

Demonstrate excellent organisation, leadership and communication skills

Be committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children with additional needs

Why Join This School?

A genuinely inclusive school with an excellent reputation for SEND provision

Supportive senior leaders who invest in staff wellbeing and development

A collaborative team where expertise is shared and celebrated

Opportunities to influence whole-school inclusion strategy

A welcoming school community with high aspirations for every pupil

Competitive daily rate of up to ÂŁ282.49 PAYE
