Senior Chemist FTC

Elevation Recruitment Group have a fantastic fixed term contract opportunity, with an established manufacturing business who specialise in high-performance lubricants and maintenance products.

As the Senior Chemist (interim team leader) you will be responsible for the formulation of new and existing products, testing and upscaling as well as being customer facing in support of the technical helpdesk.

As the Senior Chemist you will:

• Lead the development, testing, and upscaling of new and existing grease formulations, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and project objectives.
• Manage and coordinate laboratory activities, including resource allocation, team supervision, and process optimisation, to support timely and effective project delivery.
• Drive progress on technical projects across CBI, VA/VE, and OEM-related initiatives, ensuring regular updates and transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial, operational, and regulatory alignment throughout the development process.
• Support customer enquiries, troubleshooting, and technical help desk activities, applying a solution-focused and commercially aware approach.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, quality, and health and safety standards, role modelling the companies leadership behaviours and continuous improvement mindset.

To be considered for the Senior Chemist role you will need:

• BSc (Hon) in scientific field.
• Proven experience in Formulation of Lubricant products and greases (highly desirable)
• Knowledge of GLP quality requirements skills gained in similar work (or dissimilar but relevantly skilled work).
• Awareness of REACH, NSF
• Project management awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with external suppliers and distributors.
• Microsoft office package skill to medium-advanced level.
