Senior Communicator and Strategist

• Contract Duration: 6 Months (with possible extension)
• Location: St Pancras, London (can be based in Boston Spa) Hybrid with travel between sites for meetings etc
• Salary: £620 per day
• Job Type: Part-time (2-3 days per week, with flexibility)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Communicator and Strategist to lead communications for transformation and complex change initiatives within a prominent national library. This role requires a seasoned professional with a significant background in supporting major changes, ideally within the public sector and at C-suite level.

• Collaborate with organisational development and change specialists to support the Chief Executive in strategic communications and change management.
• Develop and implement a communications strategy that includes clear narratives and messages tailored for various audiences within the organisation, focusing on senior leaders and those directly impacted by changes.
• Design and facilitate workshops and events to support the delivery of strategic initiatives such as the target operating model and Budget Modernisation initiative.
• Coach individuals and groups through the organisational change period, employing high emotional intelligence and engagement strategies.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across departments, ensuring alignment of internal and external messaging.
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise and maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealings with senior leadership.

• Proven track record in leading communications for complex, large-scale change initiatives, ideally within the public sector.
• Experience working directly with C-suite executives and senior leadership teams.
• Strong background in coaching and engagement strategies within formal structural change settings.
• Ability to design and deliver effective communication strategies and workshops.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Flexibility to travel between sites and adapt to peak periods in the delivery timeline.
