Job Description - Social Care Assessor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assessor to join the training team.

Duties will include assessing, supporting and guiding learners undertaking Social Care Apprenticeship programmes, Diplomas and other relevant qualifications, ensuring timely achievement, high-quality learning experiences, and compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements including Ofsted.

Duties will include

Assessment and Learner Support

• Develop and deliver a high-quality curriculum and assessment using a range of methods (e.g., observations, professional discussions, work products).

• Support learners to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours in line with apprenticeship standards.

• Conduct regular progress reviews, setting SMART targets to ensure timely completion.

• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to support continuous improvement.

• Prepare learners for End-Point Assessment (EPA).

Quality & Compliance

Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records in line with organisational and awarding body requirements.

• Ensure all assessment decisions meet internal quality assurance (IQA) and external quality assurance (EQA) standards.

• Adhere to safeguarding, Prevent duty, equality and diversity, and data protection policies.

• Participate in standardisation meetings and quality improvement activities. Build effective relationships with line managers.

• Provide guidance to managers on supporting learners in the workplace.

• Act as the main point of contact for learners throughout their programme.

• Ensure compliance with the Ofsted Education and Inspection Framework and the DFE Funding rules.

• Provide written reports as required.

Essential skills & experience:

Up to date experience and competence working in the social care sector supporting vulnerable adults with a learning disability and/or a mental health condition.

• Full UK driving licence and be willing to travel around CTTM’s homes and services.

• Up to date knowledge of legislation relating to the social care sector including the fundamental standards.

• Ability to engage and support both experienced employees and those at an early stage of their professional development.

• Proficiency with IT packages for managing training and communication, such as Microsoft Office.

• Strong understanding of Health and Social Care qualifications and apprenticeship standards with experience assessing up to level 5.

• Knowledge of End-Point Assessment (EPA) processes

• Ability to plan and deliver effective assessments using a range of methods

• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and time management skills

• Ability to use e-portfolio systems and digital tool

Essential Qualifications:

* Leader in Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification mapped against these standards.

* • Level 3 assessors award or equivalent i.e. TAQA, A1 or D32/33

Hours

16 hours per week over a two-day period which will include early mornings/late nights to support learners working night shifts
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
