Sports Coach

Hanson Recruitment is looking to recruit Sports Science Graduates/Students and Sports Coaches to work as Teaching Assistants in schools in South-West.

We offer flexible, well-paid work opportunities in school settings to Sports Science students, Sports Science graduates, Sports Coaches and graduates with background in Sports as Teaching Assistants. Ideal Teaching assistant will be someone who has a keen interest in supporting children with their curriculum, social and emotional skills and develop their academic ability and use their skills in Sports Coaching to motivate them.

Pay Rate: £85 - £100 per day (subject to experience and qualifications). The work will be taking place in schools during the week during school hours (0830-1530).

Responsibilities include:

• Providing both dedicated support to individual pupils and the other pupils in class
• Supporting the students’ academic progress and development
• Collaborating with the classroom teacher and other staff members to provide a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assisting with the student's behaviour management and social-emotional development
• Following all school behaviour, safeguarding and Health and Safety policies

Qualifications & attributes:

• Experience of working with children in any capacity (ideally sports)
• Sports Science or Sports Coaching Qualification/Equivalent or studying towards one
• Football Coaching, Rugby Coaching, Tennis Coaching, Hockey Coaching or playing to a intermittent level
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work between 0830-1530 hours during the week term-time

The role of a Teaching Assistant will enable you to use both your Sports Science and Coaching knowledge and inter-personal skills to support children in the classroom with their learning. You will be able to work flexible days around your sports studies or Sports coaching commitments and you can change your availability week by week.
