Job Description - Strategic Partnerships Manager

Could you transform relationships into strategic partnerships to help improve the lives of people living with sight loss?

We’re looking for a Strategic Partnerships Manager for a Manchester-based charity, supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities across the North. In this brand-new role, you’ll drive income by developing influential partnerships and raise the profile of Sight Loss Services across Greater Manchester.

Location: Manchester/Hybrid, estimated 3 days either in the office or at meetings

Salary: circa £42k per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week (part-time applications welcome)

Benefits: 5 weeks holiday plus 10 bank days

As part of a growing fundraising and business development team, you'll identify new opportunities, build relationships with key decision-makers, and lead on proposals, bids and tenders. You'll also work closely with operational colleagues to develop services that respond to local need and demonstrate the impact of the organisation's work.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to define a new role, build key partnerships and influence the growth of an emerging area within the income generation portfolio.

Day-to-day you can expect to:

  • Develop and secure commissioning, contract and funding opportunities across Greater Manchester.

  • Build strong relationships with NHS, Local Authority, VCSE, corporate and community partners.

  • Lead and support bids, tenders and partnership proposals from opportunity through to submission.

  • Represent the organisation across Greater Manchester networks, forums and partnership groups.

  • Manage a pipeline of opportunities, helping to generate sustainable income and long-term impact.

About you

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, relationship-focused and motivated by values and purpose.

We'll be looking for you to bring:

  • Experience in business development, sales, partnerships or income generation, in a relevant space.

  • The confidence to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience developing proposals, bids, tenders or funding applications.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities at once.

  • A proactive approach and the resilience to spot opportunities and see them through.

Experience within the charity, health, education or public sector would be an advantage, but we're equally keen to hear from applicants with transferable skills and a strong track record of generating income and building partnerships.

Why this organisation?

This is an opportunity to join a values-led organisation with a long history of supporting people living with sight loss and a range of disabilities. You'll play a key role in shaping future services and securing income that has a direct impact on people's lives.

How to apply

To apply: All you need to do is send a copy of your CV or draft profile over to Amelia Lee as the first step. From there, we'll be in touch with full application details if you meet our initial assessment of the skills and experience required.

Deadline: We're working on a rolling basis, only because this role has been previously advertised and we're keen to appoint as soon as possible.

However, if you feel this disadvantages you in any way, please get in touch with Amelia at Charity People and she'll ensure you do not miss out.

Charity People is a forward thinking, inclusive organisation that actively and deliberately promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. We know organisations thrive when inclusion is at the forefront. We evidence our commitment by matching charity needs with the skills and experience of candidates irrespective of background e.g. age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we believe that greater diversity leads to greater results for the charities we work with.
