We are working with a high-achieving secondary school in Wakefield to recruit a part-time Teacher of Food Technology, starting this September. This part-time role involves delivering Food Technology to KS3 and KS4 students, supporting coursework, and helping students develop both confidence and competence in the kitchen.

Essential Requirements

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• A strong ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to KS3 & KS4
• Support students in developing practical cooking skills
• Ensure all kitchen activities meet health and safety standards
• Mark work and provide constructive feedback
• Prepare and maintain ingredients and resources for lessons
• Monitor and report on student progress
• Promote healthy eating and sustainability in lessons
• Differentiate lessons to meet varied learning needs
• Attend department and staff meetings as required
• Work closely with other technology staff to support cross-curricular projects
