TEACHING ASSISTANT

Zen Educate is looking for passionate and motivated Teaching Assistants (or candidates with transferable skills) for long-term and daily supply roles in schools across Weston-super-Mare area and its surroundings. About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring they receive the attention they need to succeed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they are included in all aspects of classroom learning.
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson planning and delivery, helping to create dynamic and engaging activities.
• Supporting student progress by helping them achieve their full potential in a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Working one-on-one with students who may require additional support, ensuring their learning needs are met effectively.
• Collaborating closely with teachers and other staff members to promote a positive and encouraging classroom culture.
• Helping with behavior management and providing emotional support to students when needed.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates should ideally meet the following criteria:

• Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable, but not essential. If you have transferable skills from a different role, especially working with children or in an educational setting, we’d love to hear from you!
• Experience or an understanding of special educational needs (SEN) is preferred, but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and adapt is key!
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to work well within a team.
• Patience and adaptability, as you’ll be working with a diverse group of students with varying needs.
