I am working on behalf of a school located in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside surrounded by green, leafy grounds and views across open fields and farmland. The school’s Christian values and the needs of our children are central to all our decision-making. We encourage participation in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, day trips and residential trips, with sports clubs and music tuition on offer. This school is looking for a bright, engaging teaching assistant to join a key stage 2 starting September.

You will play a vital role in a child's educational, emotional and social development, working directly with them on a 1:1 basis. You must be able to provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence, adapting classroom materials to encourage engagement and proactive learning.

Responsibilities:

• Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to the pupil.

• Providing one to one support during class.

• Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.

• Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.

• Understanding the individual needs of the pupil to best support them in class.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.

• Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.

• Relevant qualifications and training non essential proving good experience.

• An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
