Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Dalston, Hackney, who are looking to appoint passionate Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2026. These full-time, long-term opportunities offer the potential to become permanent for the right candidates.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils in class to maximise their learning and development

Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and activities

Provide one-to-one and small group support where required

Encourage positive behaviour and promote pupil wellbeing

Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials

Support children with varying learning needs, including those with SEND where required

Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

Have at least 6 months' experience working in a UK primary school

Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service

Be available to work Monday to Friday (5 days per week)

Be flexible to travel to schools across both Hackney and surrounding boroughs

Have excellent communication and classroom management skills

Be proactive, reliable and passionate about supporting children's learning

Be able to work effectively as part of a team

Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) is advantageous but not essential.
